The Apostolic Declaration

1 John 1:1-3
“What was from the beginning, what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we have looked at and touched with our hands, concerning the Word of Life, the life was manifested. We have seen and testify and proclaim to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us. What we have seen and heard we proclaim to you also, so that you too may have fellowship with us; and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.”

“The Gospel is a declaration, a manifestation, a showing. The Gospel, according to the New Testament, is a herald. It is like a man with a trumpet who is calling people to listen. There is nothing tentative about what he has to say. Something has been delivered unto him, and his business is to repeat it. We are ambassadors and the business of the ambassador is to deliver the message which has been given to him by his home government and the king he represents."
