Thursday Late Afternoon
The wind and rain has picked up significantly. The NOAA track and radar show that Fay has begun moving slowly north again, still along the coast. We are beginning to get the steady portion of the wind and rain associated with the center of circulation. Fary is still a tropical storm (sustained winds in excess of 39mph) but that will mostly be found in the “eye wall.” The winds we’re getting, 50 – 60 miles away from the eye are not as strong. The storm lost a lot of strength since being over land. It is still circulating around a central “eye” but it is not very organized.
