sTS Hanna - Thursday Mid Afternoon
Thursday Mid Afternoon: Hanna is speeding up now that it is clearing the northern Bahama islands. It remains a TS and is having trouble developing organization due to varying factors. Weather Underground stated that it more like a sub-tropical storm than a TS, in that the main intensity of the storm is spread out into the outer bands rather than the central spin.
From the satellite imagery, I would expect us to see windy and cloudy conditions from the northwest portions of the storm later today and into tomorrow.
The models for H Ike are somewhat split now. Some predict it to follow Hanna’s path or even drift so far west as to make a direct hit as a major hurricane in south Florida. Other models think it may go straight into the Gulf. In any case, it will definitely be a storm to watch after Hanna has passed by. The time frame shows it threatening Florida by Wednesday next week as a C3.
