The All Sufficiency of Christ

1 John 4:2-3
“Hereby you know the Spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God. Every spirit that confesses not that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, whom you have heard will come and already now is in the world.”

“The ultimate test of all who profess or teach Christianity is their attitude towards the Lord Jesus Christ. What is the teaching of the antichrist? It is not a denial of Christ. It is a misrepresentation of Christ. False teachings detract from the wonder of Christ’s work. If the incarnation is not an actual fact, if He had not been made flesh and dwelt among us, there is no real meaning in the laying aside of the insignia of the eternal glory. There is no true humiliation. Also, if that glorious person in the unity did not die upon the cross, there is no atonement for sin. There is no expiation.”
