Destined for Glory

1 John 3:2
“Beloved, now we are the sons of God. It does not yet appear what we shall be. We know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.”

“The more I read the New Testament, the more I am impressed by the fact that every appeal to conduct and good behavior is always made in terms of our position. The Bible never asks us to do anything without reminding us first of all who we are. You always get doctrine before practical exhortation. Look at any epistle you like and you will always find it. These men, under inspiration of the Holy Spirit, first tell us ‘this is what you are as a result of the work of Christ, therefore ...’”
